Whidbey Island Living Legacy (WILL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions.
Our mission is to raise funds, through purchase or donation, to buy land for affordable housing on which qualified individuals can build their own tiny homes within a community of tiny homes.

As of August 2024, the median price of homes on South Whidbey was $650K.
Since 2000, the South Whidbey student population has decreased by 50%, even as the resident population has grown by 17%. South Whidbey School District currently has 97 children in the schools that are inadequately housed.
It is difficult for retail and service venues

It is difficult for retail and service venues to staff their businesses due to a lack of affordable housing.
Many fixed-income retirees can no longer afford to age in place on South Whidbey.
Affordable housing is integral to the region’s healthy economy.
The City of Langley is the only location on South Whidbey currently zoned for tiny houses. Island County will be discussing expanding tiny house zoning to Clinton, Freeland, and Greenland in the future. We need affordable housing now.
Our team believes that every person, every family has a basic human right to a roof over their heads. Housing security affects the health and well-being of the individual, the community, and the economy.
